1960年の発売より、他にはない強烈なインパクトによって独自のファンを獲得してきた、伝説の名器『ハミングバード』をそのオリジナルに忠実な仕様で再現した『ヒストリックコレクション』シリーズ、カスタムショップ製です。
現代の技術によって格段に振動の強い、サマリー・エイジド・トップの加工が施された特別なシトカは絶妙な導管と強い冬目で、見るからに柔軟性に優れた素材であることが覗えます。指板材のローズウッドにはインドという表記がないので、様々な産地の物が使われるのでしょうが、見た目と触り心地からして、ココボロなのではないかと推測します。
ーコンストラクションー
一般的なギブソンやそのほかのアコギは各木材の接点が手合いとボンドで接着されていますが、伝統的な工法では、本器のようにニカワでの接着が成されます。画像でもわかる通り非常にきめの細かい、冬目の強いシトカを使用していますが、この振動を120%伝達させ、一体感を作り出す、絶妙な組み込みです。
ヘッド振動をボディーに卸す最も重要な役割を果たす、アコギのいわば「腰」ネックジョイントのダブテイルも丁寧な楔が、木材に浸透するといわれる、薄いニカワで接着されています。
