Legendシリーズから始まった、当時の接着方法、ハイドグルー(にかわ)を用いた組み込みや、極限のエイジングを施したレッドスプルース(=アディロンダック)を使用するなど、手抜きの存在しないハンドメイドの時代の工法をリスペクトし、現代に蘇らせた名器です。
628.65mmのスケールとラウンドショルダーの組み合わせはマーティンなどとは異なり、心地よいルーズなサウンドを生み出します。ヴィンテージに至っては金額もさることながら、コンディションの良いものに出会うことは至難です。「今持っておかないと」と後で後悔するタイプのギターではないでしょうか。
Gibson J-45にはいくつかグレードがあります。最も安価なものでStandard タイプ
その上にはレギュラーモデルの限定仕様
材料のランクが大きく変わるのがその上の「カスタムショップ」で年間数量限定
ここから明らかに次元が変わるのがこの「カスタムショップ・ヒストリックコレクション」です。スタンダードシリーズからはかなりかけ離れますが、J-45で検索すると「個体差」や「あたりはずれ」とでますが、こういったワードが当てはまらないのがヒストリックコレクションです。
