世界恐慌により文化的な楽観主義が後退せざるを得なかった当時の世相下において、ギブソンは“advanced（進歩的な・上級な）”新製品ラインアップを考案しました。それらのモデル群のひとつに数えられるのが、 アドヴァンスト・ジャンボ・モデルです。
カスタムショップ・ヒストリック・コレクションのなかでも、特に人気の高い36年リイシューのアドヴァンスト ジャンボ。1936年からわずか４年間の間のみ生産された、当時のギブソンの中でも珍しい、ローズウッドを用いたドレッドノートで、同時期のマーティンのドレッドノートよりも2mmほど長いスケールを採用しておいることもあり、ストラムでも減衰の少ない爆音とサスティンを得ることが出来ます。
プレミアム・エボニー 指板/ブリッジ、ロングスケール ネック、サーマリー・エイジド・アディロンダック・レッド・スプルース トップといった魅力ある仕様が凝縮されています。すべてのコンストラクションがニカワ接着で成され、一体感のあるサウンドが魅力です。
