希代の名工ロベール・ブーシェの直系又は後継者と言われる、ジャン・ピエール・マゼ。
超寡作家ゆえ、入手は極めて困難な名器で。現在通算50本台でしょうか。

本器はマゼ氏のキャリアの初期作品1988年作。師であるブーシェ氏の1986年没の2年後にあたる製作品です。通算No.5で、No.1-No.4は非売品とのこと。
また、ロゼッタに赤味の寄せ木を使用した器は本器No.5のみ。

サイド＆バックにハカランダを使用したこの時代のマゼ器は、現在のローズウッド仕様の器と比べ、音に滋味を感じる、出音が渋い印象で、ローズのたっぷりした溢れる美音の鳴りとは趣が異なります。

現在のマゼ器をオリジナルサウンドとすると、本器は師ブーシェの音そのものを目指した作品と言えると思います。

割れなし、塗装オリジナル。

名器です。
