シンガポール発のギターメーカー「Maestro Guitars」の創設者Hozen氏が立ち上げたMaestro Guitarsのカスタムショップに位置するブランド「Hozen Guitars」。氏は、ギター製作の巨匠であるErvin Somogyiの元でギター製作を学んだ経歴を持ち、このブランドで、さらにコンセプト色を強めたBlue Label、Black Label、Red Labelといったシリーズを展開しております。
本機は、Black Labelで、厳選された素材を使用し、少量生産で丁寧にハンドメイドされるフィンガースタイルなどに特化してチューニングされたシリーズとなります。独自のサウンドと共に、ブランドの象徴的なルックスも際立っています。
ボディスタイルは、洗練されたフォルムのミディアムジャンボタイプです。トップは、シンカーレッドシダーです。シンカーとは、川や湖などの水中に長い期間沈んでいた材で、長いシーズニングを経て、音の伝達性、音響特性に優れている貴重な材です。そのルックスも味わいがあります。サイドとバックは、インディアンローズウッドで、ネックは、マホガニー、フィンガーボードとブリッジは黒くきれいなアフリカンエボニーです。ネックまわりにつきましては、44mmナット幅に、すっと握れる薄めのネックシェイプです。ブレイシングは、長年改良を重ねてきたこのシリーズ独自のブレイシングが採用されております。そしてこのシリーズの特徴としましては、サイドサウンドポート、フローレンタインカッタウェイ、マンザーウェッジボディ（6弦側に向けて薄くなっているテーパードボディ）、ベベルドアームレストです。フィンガーギターの要素がたっぷりと盛り込まれておりプレイヤーをアシストしてくれます。またフレットは、PLEKセットアップされているのも特徴です。
サウンドは、落着きあるトーンで、レスポンス良く響いてくれます。音の抜け感、透明感もすごく良いです。フィンガースタイルはもちろんですが、軽めのストロークなんかもすごく良い感じです。是非、そのサウンドをお手に取ってお確かめいただければと思います。
