1994年、アメリカ・マサチューセッツ州で誕生したKLON CENTAUR。
エンジニアでありギタリストでもあったBill Finnegan（ビル・フィネガン）氏とその友人達により、一切の妥協を許さず実に4年もの歳月をかけて開発された伝説のオーバードライブです。
最終的に約8,000台が製作され、いくつかのバリエーションが存在するものの、その全てにプレミアがついており、エフェクター愛好家の憧れの的。
本器は2011年製、最終期に制作されたCENTAUR Professional Overdrive Silver "No Picture"のUSED美品。

既存品では自分の求めるサウンドに辿り着けなかったビル・フィネガン氏が、大きく、開放的で、チューブアンプがクリップする感覚を求め設計されたCENTAURのサウンドは、正しくそれを体現したもので、太く芯のある中域、ギターとアンプ本来のキャラクターを一切損なわないナチュラルなコンプレッション感、そしてタッチに忠実に応える立体的な音像。
隅々まで気持ち良いサウンドです。
ほとんど使用感は見られず、アダプター使用時の変換コネクターこそ付属しておりませんが、箱やペーパー類も綺麗に残っているコレクターズアイテムです。
その圧倒的な完成度の高さは、後継モデル「KTR」や多くのクローンモデルでは再現しきれない、味わいや所有欲を満たしてくれる逸品、今のうちにどうぞ。
