1990年にATELIER Zを立ち上げ、1993年にSadowsky NYCでRoger Sadowskyから技術を学び、渡米中にJohn Suhrからフレットワークを教わり、幅広いセットアップ技術を習得。帰国後は現在でも高い評価を受けている日本製Sadowskyの総責任者を務めていた菊地嘉幸氏。それらのギターやベースを製作するのに蓄積した、菊地氏の全ての知識やノウハウを活かした楽器作りを行うために立ち上げられたブランド ”Kikuchi Guitars”。

今回入荷しましたのは、Custom Series同様のパーツを採用し、より多くのプレイヤーが手に取れるよう製作される “Hermes Series” 。アッシュボディ、メイプル指板を採用したシンプルな仕様の"MV4"になります。
基本的な仕様はこれまでに製作されてきたCustom Seriesと同様ですが、当モデルはソリッドボディを採用。小ぶりなディンキーシェイプに重量も3.85kgと軽量な仕様になっております。
ピックアップにはDimarzio製のカスタムハムキャンセリングピックアップを搭載し、オリジナルのプリアンプが菊地氏の理想とするトーンを出力します。アッシュメイプルらしく乾いたパンチの有るトーンに、タッチに対するレスポンスも良くタイトに引き締まった低音に明瞭感、太くハリのあるアタックがご体感頂けます。
ネックは強度が増され、ヘッド部には厚みを持たせている一方で、HipshotのUltralightペグを採用し、軽量でありながらも優れたバランスを実現しています。低いローアクションと精密なフレットワークにより、快適なプレイアビリティも確保されています。

状態としまして、全体的に使用感は非常に少ない美品コンディションをキープ。ネックコンディションは良好でトラスロッドの余裕もあり、フレットもほとんど減っておらず演奏面も良好です。
