"Maton Musical Instruments Company"
1946年に社名が現在の"Maton Musical Instruments Company"になり、その後工場をカンタベリー、ベイズウォーター、そしてメルボルン・ボックスヒルへと工場の規模を拡大しながら拠点を移し、オーストラリアを代表するギターブランドへ成長しました。自国の素材を尊重した個性を放つラインナップは、世界中で愛用者が増え続け、今や世界的なビッグブランドとなりその勢いは止まりません。
本器はハイグレードな木材をボディ材に用いた上位モデル、EBG808 Artistの2011年製USED品。
トップ：シトカスプルース（AAAグレード）
サイド＆バック：オーストラリアンブラックウッド
ネック：クイーンズランドメイプルネック(アジャスタブルロッド)
指板：ローズウッド

最近はUSED市場でもあまり見かけなくなった、マイナーチェンジ前のAP-Micを搭載した時代のEBG808 Artist。また、今ではストリーキーエボニーがすっかり定着したメイトンの指板・ブリッジですが、こちらは往年のスペックであるローズウッドを使用していた時期の一本です。サイドバックのブラックウッドの木目も整った虎目が美しく、程よく色焼けして黄金色になっています。
ボディ幅は000と00サイズの中間でありながら、ディープボディ仕様である為、抱え易い小柄でありながらも豊かなベース音を生み出します。
極限まで高められたセットアップ、ローポジションからハイ・ポジションまで、指板に吸い付く様な弾き心地がテクニカルなプレイをサポート。
全体的にキズや使用感は多くあり、しっかりと弾き込まれた様子が分かります。フレットは一番減っているところで7割弱残っております。ネックを含め演奏面のコンディションは良好な一本です。
弾き込まれた渋いメイトン、AP-Micのファットなサウンドもまた味わい深い一本です。
まさにプロフェッショナル仕様。
