カワセ楽器のジャンボやケンタッキーマンドリンの製作に携わった経歴を持ち、のちにSUMI工房を立ち上げて味わい深い魅力的な楽器を製作し続けております。現在は生産本数が減っており、年々希少性が高まっています。

本器は、マーティンスタイル5のレプリカモデル、
UK-S5K SAKURAの新品同様USED品。

ヴィンテージのマーティンスタイル5をモチーフに、SUMI工房が得意とする日本テイストのサクラのインレイをヘッドに配し、アメリカンでありながらどこかオリエンタルな雰囲気を併せ持っています。ハワイアンコアの木目も美しく、バックには贅沢な1ピース材を使用。左右非対称に現れた模様は、人の手では生み出せない、天然材ならではの個性と自然の証であることを物語っています。

立ち上がりが速く、明瞭で芯のあるサウンドが印象的で、きらびやかな高音と温かみのある中低音がバランス良くまとまり、一音一音が艶やかに、立体感をもって響いております。
