日本人ルシアーの先駆者的存在であり、カリフォルニアにおいて完成度の高い、フラットトップ・アコースティック、アーチトップ、エレクトリック・ギターを製作していたTaku Sakashta。
ソモジ氏の工房を経て94年カリフォルニアで工房を構え、タック・アンドレス、ボズ・スキャッグス、ロベン・フォードをはじめ多くの第一線のアーティストにも絶大な支持を得ました。
本器は2003年製、モディファイド・ドレッドノートのカスタムモデル、その名もThe Hard "Koa" Special。

サイド＆バック：ハワイアンコア（サイドダブルレイヤー）

その他：43mmナット幅、640mmスケール、オリジナルカッタウェイ、スネークウッドヘッドプレート＆バインディング

美しいコアウッドをボディに使用し、Hardcoreを捩ったモデル名が何ともロックなカスタムモデル。ブリッジ、ヘッドプレートやバインディング、ペグボタンまでもがスネークウッドで飾られ、エキゾチックな杢目もまたロックな印象を与えます。
そして、ヘッド裏に施された「寿（ことぶき）」のインレイは、あの世界的に著名なインレイアーティスト、Larry Robinsonによるものです。
唸るようなディープな低音、伸びやかなハイトーンは正に絶品です。各弦はそれぞれに存在感がありながらも、和音としては綺麗に混ざり合い、プレイヤー自身を引き込む説得力のある音色です。
全体に使用に伴う軽微な弾きキズや使用感が見られますが、フレットの摩耗はごくわずかで、現状のままでも快適に演奏していただけます。以前にピックアップが取り付けられていた形跡があり、エンドピン穴は12mmに拡張されており、サドル下には配線用の穴が確認できます。
