いくつかのメーカーで楽器製作を学び、その後Northfield Mandolinで製作に関わり、後に独立する中国のLuthier Qin Ji Duoが製作するQuint MandolinのArchtop Octave Mandolin。古くはTim O'Brien、近年ではSierra hullやSarah Jarosz、Joe K.Walshなど人気のマンドリスト達が積極的に使用する事でにわかに注目を集めるオクターブマンドリン。古き良きアーチトップギターをベースにアレンジし、製作されたアーチトップオクターブマンドリン。削りだしイタリアンスプルーストップ、フィギャードメイプルサイド、フィギャードメイプルバック、フィギャードメイプルネック、プレミアムエボニーRadius指板、後藤ペグ、極薄のニトロセルロースラッカーフィニッシュです。チューニングはマンドリンと同じ1E.2A.3D.4Gのユニゾンでマンドリンの1オクターブ低い音程になります。ですのでマンドリンを弾くそのままの指使いで弾いていただけます。音域はギターに近く海外のアーチストでもギター同様弾き語りで使用するアーティストも多く見られます。14Fジョイントネックで指板にはRadiusがついており操作性にも優れハイポジションまでスムースな演奏が可能です。マンドリン同様のリードプレイはもちろん歌もののバッキングなどメイン楽器として多様に対応します。こちらのメイプルボディーのノンカッタウエイモデルは当店初入荷となりますが、音量感があり、輪郭の整ったくっきりした音像でマホガニーとはまた違った良さがあります。ユニゾンチューニングならではの音の広がりは民族楽器感も得られ、アンサンブルの中でのよいアクセントとしても面白いのではないでしょうか。ハードケース付属
