A 1994 Gibson Custom Shop "Historic Collection 1959 Les Paul Standard Reissue" has arrived in stock


This is a release from a Historic Burst Reissue collector!

The "Historic Division" was launched in 1991 within the Gibson Custom Shop with the goal of creating the ultimate reproduction of original vintage models.

The first reissues were released in 1992, and the models were none other than the "59 Korina Flying V" and "Explorer"—reissues of two iconic 1950s modernist guitars featuring Korina wood: the "Flying V" and the "Explorer."
Only about 10 sets of these two models were produced, and they were sold exclusively as sets.　

The following year, in 1993, the Les Paul Standard model was finally released.
A major change was the adoption of a “long tenon” neck joint, identical to the original design.

After that, following the “40th Anniversary” models released in 1999—which were the result of such extensive research into reproduction that they could be called a full model overhaul—
updates were made almost every year.

The item we’ve just received is a 1994 “Historic Collection 1959 Les Paul Standard Reissue” from the early days of the Historic Series!
The “Historic Collection” decal that was placed on the back of the headstock in the very early 1993 models was removed starting in 1994, restoring the original look.

Externally, while there are minor signs of use, it’s in excellent-plus condition overall!
Even though it’s from 1994—meaning over 30 years have passed—it’s in such pristine condition that you can safely consider it a collector’s item.

The interior is original with no modifications, and it features the original “57 Classic” pickups, which are a recreation of the “P.A.F.” pickups.

It comes with the Gibson hang tag, warranty card, manual, and original hard case.

This Les Paul embodies the history of the Historic Reissue Burst, a model that remains highly popular even today.
