古き良き時代のマーティンやギブソンをリスペクトしつつも、随所にオリジナルな拘りが見える完成度は、ヴィンテージコレクターから現代ミュージシャンまで魅了します。
本器はトニーライスのシグネチャーモデルTony Rice D Customの2019年製USED美品。
自身が所有する1935年製D-28がベースとなり、サンタクルーズのアレンジが加わった名器です。

トップにはなんと1930年代の超貴重なヴィンテージ・アディロンダックスプルースを使用。更にピックガードにはサンタクルーズ秘蔵?!の、なんと1940年代にC.F.MARTIN社で使用していた物のデッドストックを装着しております。かつてサンタクルーズに在籍していた職人が、Martin旧工場から手に入れたものだそうです。独特の質感が楽器全体の雰囲気を一層引き立てております。
サンタクルーズ独自のスキャロップドXブレイス、そして本器の特徴であるラージ・サウンドホールが圧倒的なボリューム感を生み出し、アディロントップによるボディ全体から溢れ出てくるような重厚な低域、抜け良く明瞭な高域、フラットピックでの力強いタッチの反応はまさにトルクフル。
繊細なバラードの曲や女性ボーカルのバックではソフトタッチで鳴らせば、様々な表情をつけることができる、ドレッドノートの名器です。
ややスリムなネックはソフトVシェイプ、ローポジションでのシェークハンド演奏はもちろん、ハイポジションでの操作性も抜群。
ヘッド周りやネックヒール付近に極小キズがある程度で、使用感の少ない美品です。
