A 2003 Gibson Custom Shop "Historic Collection 1959 Les Paul Standard Reissue BZF" has arrived
For a brief period in early 2003, certain Les Paul and SG models in the Historic Series featured Brazilian rosewood fingerboards as standard.
I recall that Gibson launched and discontinued this feature quietly at the time without any special announcement, but now the official website allows you to identify individual instruments with Brazilian rosewood fingerboards by model and serial number.
The guitar we’ve just received is a 2003 59 Historic Reissue featuring that Brazilian rosewood (commonly known as BZF) fingerboard!
The figured maple top also boasts a very authentic grain pattern and color.
Externally, there are some minor signs of use, but considering its age, it’s in excellent condition—a true collector’s piece!
Internally, it’s an original instrument with no modifications.
As a rare model, it is highly sought after in markets worldwide. Don’t miss this opportunity to add it to your collection!
