A 1971 Rickenbacker 331 Light Show "Burgundyglo" has just arrived.
Just Arrived!!
The 1971 Rickenbacker 331 Light Show Model is a unique and rare model developed specifically for stage use.
This “331” model, known as the “Light Show,” features a body with built-in lights that glow in response to the sound!
It features a special assembly that glows when the strings are played and goes dark when they are not.
The body has a hollow-body construction, with a light bulb and unit housed inside a colored cover. Power is supplied by connecting a dedicated external transformer to the output jack on the side of the body.
This particular model, now in stock, features a Burgundy Glow finish from 1971—the very first year of its release!
Externally, while there is some minor wear typical of its age, it is in excellent-plus condition overall!
Internally, the tuners have been replaced with modern Kluson-style tuners, and some of the bulbs were replaced upon arrival.
We’ve addressed potential bulb-related issues for future use, so you can add this to your collection with confidence.
The sound is a classic Ricky sound, but its true appeal lies in its looks!
It responds to variations in playing dynamics, creating a variety of lighting effects—truly a rare model that captivates with its vibrant looks and sound!
