A 1978 Alembic "Series 1 LSB" has arrived in stock
It’s no exaggeration to say that Alembic Guitars was the pioneer of what we now call “high-end” guitars in the 1970s
Featuring a neck and body constructed from a combination of different woods—which produced long sustain—along with low-impedance pickups that drastically reduced noise, and an active circuit that allowed for active tone control (a revolutionary feature at the time, capable of using not only an internal battery but also an external power source), It took the market by storm as a “new kind of guitar” unlike anything else available, and was cherished by many
professional players
Even today, it remains one of the few manufacturers in the U.S. that continues to operate while preserving the scale and craftsmanship of that era. While maintaining its factory’s production capacity, it fulfills orders from fans around the world and performs restorations (refurbishments) of previously produced guitars
The instrument we’ve just received is a 1979 Series 1 LSB bass model.
This is one of the most popular models among vintage Allenbecks; it features a long scale and is equipped with the rare “PF-6” preamp.
The body features a mahogany core with rosewood top and back; the neck is a laminated maple and walnut through-neck; the fingerboard is ebony; and the position markers are made of mother-of-pearl.
Externally, there is some minor wear and weather checking typical of its age, but it remains in excellent condition for vintage gear!
Internally, it is completely original with no modifications.
Since the list price when new was extremely high, very few of these Allenbecks were imported.
If you’ve been looking for one, don’t miss this opportunity!
We’re offering it at a fair price!
Included are the original power supply unit, a Canon cable, the original spec sheet and assembly manual,
and the original blue-covered hard case.
We can ship to overseas customers. Please inquire for details.
We also accept trade-ins for your current guitar.
