知る人ぞ知る、グレッチのソリッドボディーギターシリーズ Beastの最上位機種である、1979年製のBST-5000が入荷しました。
1970年代後期からのプロダクションでしたが、短命に終わったシリーズで、現在ではかなりのレアギターになります。

ウォルナットボディーに、メイプル / ウォルナット / メイプルのスルーネック構造のギターで、時代を感じさせるデザインで、ウォルナットが高級感を出しています。

ハードウェア他、アッセンブリーもオリジナルの状態を保っており、ポットデイティングも1979年製です。
オリジナルフレットは7割程度残っています。
コントロールは両ボリュームがスイッチポットによる、各ピックアップのタップになっており、ミニスイッチはフェイズの切り替えになります。
ピックアップアップは、このモデル当時のデフォルトである、DiMarzio Super Distortionが搭載されています。
年代を考慮すれば、美品と言えるコンディションです。
ヘッド裏には、当時のオーナーの名前と、Fred Gretsch氏(三世)のサイン(2008年8月)が書かれています。

ウォルナットのミッド寄りの甘太さに、スルーネックのメイプルの硬質で明るいトーンがプラスされ、心地よいナチュラルなサスティーンが得られます。
そこにSuper Distortionが、さらに倍音の豊かを加え、このBeastの個性を引き出しています。
汎用のハードケースが付属します。
