マーチンにおいてOMモデルの復刻に大きく貢献をした"Eric Schoenberg(エリック・ショーンバーグ)”。ラグタイムプレイヤーでもある彼は、1960年代からマーチン社にOMモデルの製造をオーダーしていました。そして、その情熱をもって1986年から”Soloist Project”に取り組みます。今では当たり前のように見られる、OMスタイル・カッタウェイ・レクタングルピラミッドブリッジの形状を持った”Soloist”は、当時はもちろん、その後のアコースティックギター業界に大きな影響を残したモデルとなりました。本器は”Soloist Cutaway Jacaranda”。ダナ・ボジョアのサインが入った1988年製の1本で、バックにインサイドラベルが貼られ”Dana W. Bougeois"と”E.Schoenberg”のサインが確認できます。ベアクロウ杢と柾目痕の浮き出る目幅の狭い極上スプルーストップ、ハカランダ杢がワイルドな極上ハカランダサイド&バック、マホガニーネック、エボニー指板、エボニーピラミッドブリッジ、ウッドバインディング、本べっ甲柄ピックガード、スロッテドダイヤモンド指板インレイ、ワッフルバッククルーソンデラックスペグ、カッタウェイボディ、スキャロップドXブレイシング。ダナ本人によって材の選定やトップ・ブレイシングの作業が行われ検品をし承認されたこと、そしてエリック本人によって実際に演奏しその音色とプレイアビリティを確認し彼の基準を満たしたことを証明するダブルネームが入れられたインサイドラベル。この完成度と基準の高さで、後世にまでその評判が続くショーンバーグギター。本器でもその実力をしっかりと堪能いただけます。倍音を纏いながらもしっかりと芯がありコシの強い立ち上がり。サスティンの効いたロングトーン。そして高音まで詰まらずに伸びやかに響くサウンド。とてもバランスが良く、どこを弾いても気持ちよく反応してくれる、まさにプレイヤーが作るプレイヤーのための楽器です。少し深くまでシェイプされたビンテージを思わすヒール形状など、こだわりと弾きやすさ、そしてサウンドを兼ね備えた逸品です。若干の小傷こそ否めないまでも、割れはもちろん、大きくえぐるような傷もないグッドコンディションの本器。経年によるウェザーチェックも貫禄めいており、良い顔つきをしてくれています。ネック周りも良好で弾きやすいアクションをしっかりと保っています。後のルシアーメイドやOMカッタウェイの流行の源流とも言えるハイクラスなOMモデル。時代の軌跡を感じれるのはもちろん、現役モデルとしても引けをとらない完成度の高い1本。実力派向けのオススメ度の高い1本です。要チェックください。オリジナルハードケース付属
