Martin 1980 D-45
"Style 45 is only ever built to the finest quality available in a given year, no matter the era." This 1980 example is a distillation of exactly that philosophy. The top is Sitka spruce, back and sides are Indian rosewood, and the fingerboard and bridge are jet-black ebony. Even at a glance, it's clear this guitar was built without compromise using the finest materials of its time, well beyond a standard model. 1980 also marks the turning point when Martin's tuner spec shifted from Grover to Schaller - and this guitar still carries its original Martin-logo gold Schaller tuners. (*Pickguard has been replaced.)
The sound is world-class too. The moment you strum a chord, the highs bloom glossy and brilliant. The overtone-rich resonance spreads out endlessly and pleasantly, almost like an acoustic instrument running through a space-based effect, filling the room around you with pure D-45 tone. Despite that expansive presence, the low end never turns muddy, and it never gets harsh on the ear either.

As this is a used/vintage instrument, the following notes reflect what we could confirm during our own inspection. Thank you for your understanding.
- Pickguard, nut, saddle, and bridge pins replaced.
- Repaired cracks at the lower left of the pickguard and the lower center of the body top (glued/oversprayed).
- The included original hard case is missing its logo badge and shows some cracking here and there, but is fully functional.
[Playing Condition]
- Action at the 12th fret: 2.2mm (low E side), 1.8mm (high E side)
- Saddle protrusion: approx. 3.0-3.5mm
- No buzzing or dead notes; plays well overall.
