Gibson Custom Shop 2012 1960's J-180
A 2012 Gibson 1960's J-180 with a striking double pickguard. Its design evokes the earlier Gibson Everly Brothers, the artist model built for The Everly Brothers, the country duo active through the 1950s-60s. Production of the Everly Brothers model ended in 1972, but it was revived as the J-180 in the late 1980s and went on to become a popular model.
The J-180 is a 16-inch body, a size smaller than the J-200, with the distinctive double pickguard as its most memorable feature. Tonally, it's marked by a solid, weighty low end, a cohesive midrange, and clear, well-defined note separation. The neck is wide but relatively thin in depth, giving it a clean, comfortable grip that's easy to play.
Great for players chasing a big, commanding strumming sound. This example is fitted with a Fishman Rare Earth Mic Blend, making it usable as an acoustic-electric as well. The black magnetic pickup also complements the guitar's overall design nicely.

As this is a used instrument, the following notes reflect what we could confirm during our own inspection. Thank you for your understanding.
- Some lifting visible on the pickguard. It's held on with double-sided tape, and areas where the adhesive has weakened tend to lift slightly; this does not affect playability, so we've left it as-is.
- Minor playing wear and scuffs on the pickguard, lower body, and front/back of the headstock.
- Strap pin added at the neck heel.
- Pickup installed.

- Action at the 12th fret: 2.7mm (low E side), 2.2mm (high E side)
- The adjustable bridge allows action to be set to your preference.
- No buzzing or dead notes; plays well overall.
