K.Yairi 2026 YF-00018 CTM
K.Yairi, a long-established maker in Kani City, Gifu Prefecture, faithfully carries on traditional Japanese woodworking craftsmanship. This is a custom example of the YF-00018, built on the classic Triple-O (000) style.
The biggest draw of this guitar lies in its generous custom specs, designed to bring out every nuance of a player's touch. It's fitted with a wider-than-standard 44mm nut, giving the strings a bit more breathing room between them. That extra width helps your fingers avoid interference when fretting complex tension chords, giving each note clean separation. The moment you place your fingers on the strings, unnecessary tension melts away, and the notes bloom smoothly exactly as you intend.
The headstock is fitted with beautifully classic-looking GOTOH open-gear tuners, adding vintage flair while also delivering smooth, precise tuning and a well-balanced headstock mass that supports rich sustain.
At the tonal core is a fully solid-wood build: a solid spruce top paired with solid mahogany back and sides. Spruce's clear, immediate attack meets mahogany's warm, lively response, and together with the resonance from the wide nut, this compact-bodied guitar produces a surprisingly full, deep tone.
Like any fine instrument, the wood will continue to mature the more it's played, growing into an even richer, more beloved voice over the years ahead. Recommended both for players seeking a distinctive Yairi guitar and for those chasing serious solo-guitar expressiveness.
