Cat's Eyes 1980 CE-1500 (Late Type)
The pinnacle of Japan Vintage.
This is Tokai's finest work, the "Cat's Eyes CE-1500, Late Type" - representing the peak of Tokai's acoustic guitar production. Built on the back of a formal technical partnership with Martin, giving Japanese craftsmen direct access to the original blueprints and techniques - a miraculous piece of Japan Vintage.
The CE-1500 stands apart even within the Cat's Eyes lineup as a top-tier flagship model, and this "late type" example represents the era when Tokai's acoustic guitar craftsmanship had matured most fully.
Finest woods and ornamentation: a carefully selected solid spruce top with premium rosewood sides and back. Beautiful abalone shell inlay bordering the entire body gives it a luxurious presence rivaling the genuine D-45.
