A 1964 Hofner "500/1" in excellent clean condition has arrived in stock
The 1964 Hofner 500/1 features specification changes from the 1963 model
While the small pickup rings, staple-style pickups, and small control plate remain unchanged,
the “Hofner” logo on the headstock has been updated to a raised plastic logo, and binding has been added to the sides of the fingerboard—
primarily cosmetic upgrades designed to enhance its appearance
Considering its age, the exterior remains in excellent clean condition!
It features the unique neck shape found only on originals, which allows for a smooth, “sticky” feel when fingering,
and combined with the low string action, this is an instrument with outstanding playability
Internally, the pickups, pots, and other assemblies have been kept original; upon arrival, we only custom-made the nut to match the original shape, but everything else remains original.
As for the all-important sound—thanks to the original pickups, it naturally delivers that iconic “Fab Four” sound!
Of course, this is the distinctive sound that only a vintage “500/1” can produce.
While original 1963 models command high prices due to their rarity, this vintage Hefner is available at a reasonable, player-friendly price!
It comes with the original hard case.
