A 1973 Fender "Jazz Bass" with black block position markers has arrived
A Jazz Bass featuring a one-piece maple neck and black block position markers, first introduced in late 1969!
This configuration was exclusively used on high-end models such as the Jazz Bass, Jaguar, and Jazzmaster
This particular model, featuring a black finish, is a highly sought-after specification—the same one used by
Geddy Lee, bassist for the legendary Canadian band “Rush.”
This is a ’73 Jazz Bass with a one-piece maple neck and black position markers!
Externally, the original black finish has been over-sprayed with the same color,
and the current appearance is in relatively good condition.
The neck retains its original finish; while there is some slight yellowing of the lacquer finish on the headstock surface,
it is in good overall condition.
As for the internals, perhaps influenced by Geddy Lee, it appears to have once been fitted with a Badass bridge, but it has since been restored to the original bridge. Otherwise, the pickups, assembly, and hardware are all original.
The sound is characteristic of this era, with a one-piece maple neck and an alder body,
offering a versatile tone that combines the energy of the ’70s with the warmth of the ’60s
