Martin / 1967 0-18
The single-O size, a classic small-body favorite, sits naturally in your arms the moment you pick it up, feeling almost like an extension of your own body. Small doesn't mean any compromise on tone.
The spruce top shows a striking bearclaw figure right from first glance - a natural figuring that appears occasionally in high-quality, mature timber, and the crossing wood grain gives this particular instrument a unique, one-of-a-kind beauty.
The quality mahogany used for the sides and back produces a warm, sweet midrange and a full, resonant character to every note played.
Over half a century, the wood has developed that fully ‘dried-out’ tone with all the edges rounded off - a quality newly built guitars simply cannot replicate - giving each note a superb core and shimmer at the attack, and elevating every note's clarity and definition.
Vintage Martin 0-18s are already growing scarcer on the market year by year, but an example with bearclaw figuring this vivid across the entire top is rare indeed. For anyone seeking a genuinely distinctive example among 1967-made instruments, this is about as good as it gets.
