We've brought in a 1968 J-45 from the very tail end of the vintage round-shoulder era.
Loved by generations of musicians and singer-songwriters since its debut in 1942, the 'Workhorse.' Since the body shape shifted to square-shoulder the following year in 1969, this example represents one of the last, and highly sought-after, examples of the traditional round-shoulder style.
The defining visual feature of this era is the 'Logo P.G' - a thick pickguard printed with a gold Gibson logo, giving it a bold, unmistakable character that pairs beautifully with the moody, richly graduated tobacco sunburst finish for that unmistakably rugged, commanding vintage Gibson aura.
On the spec side, it features the late-1960s icons of a narrow neck and 14-degree headstock angle. The slim neck profile makes for a uniquely comfortable feel when using thumb-over chord shapes and driving strums in lower positions.
And what really defines the sound of this era is the adjustable bridge (ADJ). That direct, percussive 'snap' the instant you strike the strings is the true hallmark of a 1968 J-45 - tight low end and punchy top end burst forth with real conviction, making it an ideal accompaniment partner for vocals.
Age-appropriate weather-checking and honestly worn character, along with a dynamic voice that seems to capture the very air of 1960s rock and folk - come experience for yourself everything that makes vintage 1960s Gibsons so special.
