King of the flat-tops: this 1952 Gibson J-200 captures the golden era when Gibson's flagship jumbo made the switch from rosewood to maple.
The 17-inch Super Jumbo body delivers a cannon-like low end paired with the clear, articulate highs that maple is famous for. Over 70 years of aging have dried the woods to the point where the whole body erupts the instant you strike a string.
Classic appointments include the iconic mustache bridge, an ornately carved floral pickguard, and crown fingerboard inlays. Heavy weather-checking across the finish tells the story of a guitar that has lived a long, real life — the kind no relic job can fake.
