The Mustang Bass has been gaining popularity in recent years! Despite its simple design—featuring a short scale and a single pickup—it produces a bass sound with excellent tone. This particular model, manufactured in 1972, features a sunburst finish and an alder body, the same material used when it was first released in 1966. Starting in the mid-1970s, the body material was changed to ash.
Externally, there is some minor wear and weather checking typical of its age, but overall, it remains in excellent plus condition for a vintage instrument! Internally, it’s all stock with no modifications! All parts are original except for the missing mute unit. While 1960s models have become quite expensive, early 1970s models are a bit more affordable and scarce, so if you’re looking for one, don’t miss this opportunity!
