Martin 2015 HD-28V
Have you ever admired the magical tone and looks of an original pre-war D-28 but hesitated at the price tag of several million yen, or the extra care such a delicate instrument demands - so you settle for a safer, current-production model instead?
The D-28 is the absolute benchmark for the acoustic guitar. Within that lineage, the HD-28V stood at the core of the Vintage Series, bringing 1930s "golden era" specifications back to life. Though discontinued in 2018 amid a lineup restructuring, this model's dedication to pre-war Martin sound and looks still earns it devoted fans.
- Pre-war-inspired bracing for real power: forward-shifted, scalloped X-bracing lets the top vibrate more freely, producing a deep, room-filling low end and rich overtones even from a light strum.
- Classic vintage looks: delicate herringbone purfling around the body, an aging toner finish that recreates that amber glow, and butterbean-button open-back tuners.
- A modified V neck at the heart of the tone: this neck, with just the right amount of mass, transfers string vibration efficiently into the body, delivering a solid, focused tone.
