Gibson 1961 J-45
Through the 1950s, the American music scene was shifting decisively from folk toward rock and roll. The J-45 evolved right along with it, and from around 1960, it began wearing a vivid cherry sunburst in place of the earlier standard sunburst finish.
Age-related checking catches the light differently from every angle, giving it an expression like sunset light glittering off the ocean.
The neck has a feel that, the moment you pick it up, makes you feel like you can catch the faint scent of the 1960s sealed inside the instrument.
The slim neck typical of the early 1960s naturally guides the player's fingers, delivering a stress-free touch for both arpeggios and strumming. The 42.5mm nut width also gives it a grip feel that matters to players seeking this era - a bit more roomy than the narrower neck spec that came after '65.
The upper-belly bridge is fitted with a ceramic adjustable saddle. Even a light pluck produces a beautifully balanced sound where that era's "dry resonance" coexists with sparkling note definition.
Play hard and it develops real drive; play soft and it takes on a melancholic tone. This is the true essence of a 1960s J-45.

- No fretting-out or buzzing issues in playing; playing condition is good.

- Action height is adjustable via the adjustable saddle.
- Repaired crack (glued/reinforced) on the body top, inside the pickguard area and along the fingerboard side.
- Repaired crack (glued/reinforced) on the lower left of the body back.
