Martin / 1973 D-35
The D-35, introduced in 1965, remains hugely popular today. Unlike the D-38, it hides its own distinct points of difference in added trim and internal wood layout.
[3-Piece Rosewood Back]
The sides and back use Indian rosewood, with the back built from a 3-piece configuration and a corresponding pair of back braces.
[Top Wood]
A fine-grained spruce top with a slightly amber coloring that carries genuine vintage character. The dreadnought body features multi-color binding combining white and black celluloid.
[Fingerboard]
The ebony fingerboard uses dot position markers, with white binding along the fingerboard edge — one of the visual cues that distinguishes the D-35 at a glance.
[Bridge]
An ebony belly-down bridge fitted with a short saddle. White bridge pins with dot inlays complete the look, showing attractive aging over the decades.
[Neck]
The mahogany neck has a soft V profile with moderate depth — likely one of the contributors to its rich, resonant tone.
[Headstock]
The Indian rosewood veneer headstock has a slightly squared-off shape and carries Martin's classic logo.
[Tuning Machines]
Fitted with Grover 102 tuners; the slotted screws are a small detail unique to 1970s-era instruments.
[Staff Comment: Hoshino]
The combination of three quarter-sawn Indian rosewood pieces gives this guitar a different kind of richness than a D-28. Please experience the character that only a D-35 can offer.

- Playing marks, light scuffs, and dings are visible but the guitar is in good condition for its age.
- The pickguard has been replaced.
- There is a roughly 10cm crack repair on the lower back (reinforced).
[Playing Condition]
- String height at the 12th fret: 2.0mm (low E side), 2.0mm (high E side)
- Saddle projection: approx. 1.0-1.5mm
- No buzzing or choked notes; plays well.
