VEGA社はA.C.Fairbanks(1875年～)から引き継ぐかたちで1903年にVEGAに引き継がれました。VEGA社は1970年にMartin社へ売却、また1980年台半ばにはDeering社へ権利が売却されます。当器は中でも最も評価されているオリジナルボストンVEGAの後期になる1964-1970年製 Earl Scruggs STIIです。Earl Scruggsは現在の3フィンガーバンジョーロールの演奏スタイルを完成させ、その独特のアクセントの入るドライブ感はバンジョーの醍醐味として現在もバンジョー弾きのバイブルとして影響を持ち続けています。
約10-15/16インチマルチプライリム、メイプルネック、エボニー指板、メイプルリゾネーター、24ブラケット、2本のスリットの入ったチューバホントーンリング、ダブルコーディネーターロッド、ヘッドにはパールでVEGAロゴとスターインレイ、スケールは約682mm、通常のペグは後藤製へ交換、カム式チューナーはPittman Dチューナーのオリジナルです。ホワイトのトラスロッドカバーには"Earl Scruggs"が入っています。全体的にヴィンテージらしくウェザーチェックが入り、ネック裏やリゾネーターの塗装ハガレなど貫禄のあるルックスに仕上がっています。ネックコンディションは良好でフレットの摩耗は見られますが演奏性には問題ありません5弦7.9Fにスパイク打ちあり。全域に渡りブライトで快活な響き、カム式チューナーはキースチューナーとは異なるキビキビした効きの良さで好きな方もいらっしゃると思いますがカムの動作も良好で楽しんでいただけます。ハードケース付属
