Balancing vintage tone with the reliability of a modern instrument has always been a challenge for jazz guitarists.
The Archtop Tribute AT50C offers one clear answer to that long, difficult search.
Planned by one of Japan's leading jazz guitar specialty shops and built from the woodworking stage through final assembly by the renowned Terada Gakki factory, this is not simply a copy of an old guitar - it's a piece of Japanese craftsmanship created to bring that golden-era jazz tone to life in a genuinely practical instrument today.
The AT50C's biggest charm lies in the ultra-thin laminate body at the heart of its tone. After thoroughly studying the vintage greats, laminate construction was deliberately chosen to faithfully reproduce that dry, compressed attack sound solid wood simply can't achieve. At the same time, it gains real resistance to feedback at high volume - a major advantage for working players. A pickup wired specifically for this guitar captures picking nuance faithfully, producing a thick, mellow yet articulate tone. Every detail, down to the neck grip and fret work, reflects the pride of Japanese master craftsmen, and it feels like a well-worn favorite from the moment you pick it up.
Because of its rigorous quality control and painstaking manufacturing process, the Archtop Tribute series is never produced in large quantities. Every new shipment is quickly snapped up by discerning jazz players, and it remains a somewhat under-the-radar brand that's chronically in short supply.
