Released by Martin as a signature model for Andy Summers, guitarist of the rock band The Police. It's packed with unique features worth exploring.

- A fine-grained top
Based on the 000 (Triple-O) size, this unit uses Alpine spruce. Wood sourced from the northern Italian Alps is a rare material used in high-end guitars, and its fine grain is eye-catching. The top is also finished with an aging toner.

- Cutaway
One of this instrument's defining features is the cutaway, reflecting Andy's own high-position playing style — perhaps his way of ensuring both chords and melody can be handled on a single instrument.

- Top decoration
Chevron-checker binding is used, with the rosette around the soundhole featuring white and black celluloid along with herringbone.

- Sides/back
Indian rosewood is used, with a multi-color center strip reminiscent of a D-45, and black binding on the back.

- Fingerboard
An ebony fingerboard features mudra finger inlays along with a taijitu (yin-yang) symbol. Andy Summers' signature appears at the 20th fret in white mother-of-pearl.

- Bridge
An ebony pyramid bridge with a short saddle and black bridge pins.

- Neck
A slim-shaped mahogany neck offers comfortable playability for both chords and solos.

- Headstock
A sharp headstock veneered in Indian rosewood, bound in white and black celluloid, decorated with a lotus flower inlay reminiscent of a 40-series torch inlay.

WAVERLY open-back tuners give it a modern yet somehow authentic look.

Equipped standard with a FISHMAN Ellipse Blend System, blending an under-saddle piezo with a microphone for both live and studio use.

- Some playing wear and scuffs are visible, but this is a crack-free example in excellent condition overall.
- Some binding lifting on the lower left waist of the back.
- Strap pin added at the neck heel.
- Slight binding lifting at the fingerboard end.
- Slight binding lifting at the upper cutaway area on the back.

[Playing condition]
- Action at 12th fret: 3.0mm (6th string), 2.1mm (1st string).
- Saddle projection: approx. 1.5-2.0mm.
- Action is on the higher side, but there's no buzzing or dead notes; plays well.
