1975 Martin D-28 with the powerful, focused strum tone typical of the square-rod era, deepened by nearly half a century of aging. Vintage character on the outside, but properly set up by a skilled technician for surprisingly comfortable playability by modern standards. This unit has had a neck reset along with a refret, new nut, and new saddle. A neck reset restores the correct neck-to-body angle relationship and lets the saddle sit at its proper height while dialing in the action — rather than simply lowering an overly tall saddle, which reduces the string-to-saddle break angle and can dull tone or introduce buzz. This D-28's neck angle, saddle height, and action have all been properly restored: a 50-year-old Martin need not sacrifice playability or its true voice. Specs: Top Sitka Spruce, Back/Sides Indian Rosewood, Fingerboard/Bridge Ebony, Neck Mahogany, Nut width 43mm, Scale 646mm, Case Original Hard Shell Case. Repaired crack (with reinforcement) at the lower left of the pickguard; new nut and saddle fitted; new frets fitted; neck reset completed; partial crack in the case. Action at the 12th fret: 2.4mm low E side, 1.9mm high E side. Saddle protrusion approximately 2.0-2.5mm. No choking or buzzing; playing condition is good.
