[Luthier]
Armin Hanika (born in 1964 in Germany) is one of Germany's leading classical guitar makers. He began his apprenticeship in instrument making in 1980 and obtained his Master Craftsman qualification in 1987. In 1993, he took over the family workshop and developed the Hanika brand by incorporating his own distinctive approach to guitar making.

While carefully studying the traditional forms and construction of Spanish guitars, Hanika has also actively explored modern acoustic concepts, including lattice bracing and double-top construction. His work is characterized by exceptionally precise craftsmanship that brings out the natural qualities of each wood, combining traditional handcraftsmanship with contemporary design and acoustic innovation.
[Instrument]
The Hanika 1a RF is a high-end model from Hanika's Professional Line.

It features a solid Spruce soundboard paired with South American Rosewood back and sides, a combination designed to produce clear, well-defined trebles and deep, rich bass response.

The soundboard incorporates Hanika's distinctive asymmetrical design, reflecting his innovative approach to acoustic engineering. The instrument is finished with a thin, carefully polished shellac coating, allowing the natural characteristics of the wood to remain prominent.

Combining traditional tonewoods, modern acoustic design, and the precision of German craftsmanship, this guitar beautifully represents Hanika's dedication to instrument making.

There is some deterioration of the finish near the bridge on the treble side of the soundboard. However, the instrument has relatively few dents or scratches overall and remains in very good condition considering its age.
