Gibson 1966 B-25N - a uniquely styled narrow-neck era B-25.
Natural-finish B-25, successor to the LG-3, with a 14.25-inch body and non-scalloped X-bracing. What catches the eye first are the two large pickguards on either side of the soundhole. From 1964 the pickguard changed from the thin brown tortoise type to a thicker, redder one; the added pickguard on the treble side differs in color but is a similarly thick type, as if matched to the spec.
Why add a pickguard? Picking wear around the soundhole, near the pickguard, and on the fingerboard surface at frets 18-20 suggests it was strummed hard for years. Despite the small body, the X-bracing gives a dry yet open, spreading tone unlike ladder-braced models such as the LG-1.
[Narrow neck]
Around 1965 the nut width changed from about 43mm to a narrow approx. 40mm (39mm on some examples), making it ideal for a wrap-around chording grip. There is finish wear on the back of the neck from years of playing, but no step between finish and bare wood that catches the hand; no issue in normal use.
[Plastic bridge & adjustable saddle]
A distinctive airy feel and jangly sound different from a slotted saddle. An original plastic bridge (rather than a wooden replacement) is hard to find. The plastic bridge shows a slight gap, a common symptom of this spec, but it is secured from the bridge plate with 4 bolts (excluding the adjusters) to prevent significant lifting.
A rare double-pickguard B-25, perfect for anyone wanting a guitar with real character, and well priced compared with other Gibson B-25s of the same era.

- Strumming wear around the soundhole, buckle rash on the back, and finish wear on the back of the neck show a long working life.
- Hole in the neck heel where a strap pin was previously installed.
- End pin hole has been enlarged and fitted with a wooden pin.
[Playing Condition]
Action at the 12th fret: 2.5mm low E side, 2.0mm high E side. No choking or buzzing; playing condition is good.
