The original Advanced Jumbo was produced for only four years from 1936 and is considered one of the hardest models to find on the vintage Gibson market. This example is a 2002 recreation in Gibson Custom Shop's top-tier "Luthier's Choice" line, built by its master luthiers.
It combines a rosewood body with a long scale, unusual within Gibson's traditional lineup. Brazilian rosewood is used not only for the back and sides but also for the fingerboard and bridge, with deep reddish-black color and bold, exotic grain. The thin-lacquered spruce top features a vivid firestripe pickguard, single-ring rosette, and rectangular bridge with long saddle. The headstock carries a pearl script logo and diamond-and-arrow inlay, with Waverly open-back tuners.
Nut width approx. 44mm, with a slightly thick D-shape neck that gives a solid grip and full resonance.
Fast response on the strum and the rich resonance typical of a Brazilian rosewood body, combined with the firm tension of the long scale, produce a dense, powerful tone with big projection. Single notes are well defined string to string, with clear voice and long sustain - a sound that overturns the mahogany/maple image of Gibson.

Information is based on our own inspection of a used/vintage instrument. There are playing scratches and scuffs, but no strap pin has been installed on the neck heel, and it appears to have been well cared for.
[Playing Condition]
Action at the 12th fret: 2.9mm low E side, 2.0mm high E side. Saddle protrusion approximately 3.5-4.5mm. No choking or buzzing; playing condition is good.
