Morris BC-171ET-WK built by Morris luthier Takumi Morinaka — a guitar whose very presence is moving, carrying history and story beyond its tone alone.
Beyond the rich, delicate resonance of its thin SC body and Morris's original AXL bracing, its greatest appeal is the design: traditional Japanese-pattern (wagara) fabric is carefully inlaid into the headstock inlay, rosette, and back center strip. For over a thousand years, Japanese people have expressed nature and prayer through such patterns — asanoha (hemp leaf) symbolizes growth and prosperity, and seigaiha (blue ocean waves) represents peace and permanence — passed down through textiles, architecture, and crafts. The patterns were finished with delicate techniques akin to traditional craftwork so as not to lose the texture and color of the fabric. A guitar for players who want both rich tone and emotional depth, and who aren't satisfied with ordinary individuality.
