Gibson 1996 Everly Reissue. The Everly Brothers, creators of classics like "All I Have to Do Is Dream" and "Keep A-Knockin'," are symbolized by Gibson's Everly Brothers Model: based on the J-180, with large pickguards arranged as a matching pair and star-shaped inlays. This model recreates the Everly Brothers signature model introduced in 1968.
The 16-inch body (same as the J-180) has a spruce top in black finish. The 1968 original had tortoise pickguards, but this one has black-and-white 4-ply pickguards facing each other to match the body color. Maple back and sides give a sound that is not overly hard, with quick response and warmth.
Rosewood fingerboard with the signature star inlays. Three-piece maple neck with a soft V profile that fits the hand naturally. The large trapezoidal rosewood bridge is a pinless, top-loading design with an adjustable saddle, as on the original model, showing attention to detailed specs. The headstock features the modern Gibson logo plus a star inlay, with a two-piece bell-shaped truss rod cover. Grover 102 tuners provide stable tuning.
