Gibson 1957 J-45, the eternal standard among Gibson acoustics, from the 1950s vintage era known as its golden age. Current models take an enormous amount of time for the wood to open up, and only a real old Gibson has this seasoned character.
A small teardrop pickguard and dark sunburst finish, beautifully faded over the years, give it a commanding presence that modern aging treatments cannot reproduce.
Nearly 70 years have matured the spruce top and mahogany back and sides. Gibson's earthy, snappy attack is joined by full low-mids developed through years of playing, making it a superb accompaniment instrument that gently surrounds a vocal without getting in its way.
The thick, substantial 1950s neck shape settles firmly into the hand and transfers left-hand energy directly to the body. Rather than a museum piece, it remains highly practical as a main guitar for live and recording use. 1950s Gibsons are rising quickly in price worldwide and supply is drying up; good J-45s in ready-to-play condition are very rare.

Over 60 years old, yet clean in appearance with a rich sunburst color. Overlacquer on the back of the neck. Finish touch-up near the lower right of the pickguard. Pickguard crack repaired. Crack repairs at the upper right and lower right of the soundhole (beside the pickguard). String hole repair on the bridge plate.
[Playing Condition]
Action at the 12th fret: 2.5mm low E side, 1.9mm high E side. Saddle protrusion approximately 1.0-2.0mm. No choking or buzzing; playing condition is good.
