YAMAHA Dynamic Guitar No.80

Product Description

YAMAHA Dynamic Guitar No.80

A historic piece that cannot be left out of any account of the early days of Japanese-made acoustic guitars: the YAMAHA Dynamic Guitar No.80 by Nippon Gakki, the origin of Japan Vintage.

Introduced in the early 1960s, this model carries the passion and craftsmanship of Japanese builders of the time, who worked through trial and error to reach a world standard. A highly practical vintage instrument for players seeking a unique tone usable in today's music.

It was originally designed for steel strings, but we have strung it with nylon strings this time.
Even with nylon strings it combines brightness with a deep clarity, with a note separation like bells ringing together.

Historic craftsmanship from the early days of Nippon Gakki
A product of the era before large-scale automation, when skilled craftsmen assembled each guitar carefully by hand. Its precise construction, filled with the energy of the Japanese guitar industry just before it took off worldwide, still has a strong presence more than half a century later.

The dry tone of Ezo spruce and maple
It uses a quality Ezo spruce top of the period with maple back and sides with beautiful grain. More than half a century of aging has matured the wood, giving a full, clear vintage character within a strong attack, a resonance that modern guitars cannot reproduce.

Rugged playability
Though more than half a century old, it has survived Japan's humid climate and remains tough enough to play as a main instrument in live and recording settings today. Its greatest appeal is the high practicality that expresses the subtle nuances of the player's fingers directly.

The presence of a piece of Japanese guitar history and a vintage sound built over half a century. Examples like this, combining historical value and real-world usability, are very scarce on the market.
