Gibson 1969 Everly Brothers

Product Description

Gibson / 1969 Everly Brothers

The Everly Brothers model stands out among Gibson acoustics and has captivated many rock'n'roll legends.
Do you long for its one-of-a-kind look and percussive vintage tone, but hesitate because of soaring prices and the risk of using a rare original on the job?

Even with a reissue or a current model of similar shape, players who use their guitars in real settings still find themselves wanting the crisp attack and dry character that only a real '60s Gibson can produce.
Spend a large budget searching for an original '60s example in good condition, or compromise on sound with a current model? That choice is a real dilemma for any guitarist searching for a lifelong partner.

The wisest answer to that dilemma is this 1969 Gibson Everly Brothers, combining the presence of the legendary double pickguard with a superb strumming sound.

Iconic looks with presence on stage
A body of just the right size based on the J-185, with the model's greatest identifying features: the huge double pickguard and star inlays on the fingerboard.
The weather checking and deep vintage color built up over more than half a century give a real history and presence that modern aging treatments cannot reproduce.

The percussive tone brought out by more than half a century
More than 50 years since 1969 have aged the spruce top and maple back and sides. The moderate compression from the huge pickguard combines with the fast response of maple, opened up by years of playing, making it the ultimate rhythm guitar for supporting a vocal with power.

Late-'60s playability
The narrow neck typical of the late '60s makes chords easy to grip even for players with small hands, with excellent handling for fast strumming and hard playing.
Rather than a collector's item for a showcase, it remains highly practical as a main instrument for today's live and recording settings.

'60s Everly Brothers models, made in small numbers and of high historical value, are rising fast in price worldwide, and few are left on the market. Good examples in condition ready for real use are especially rare.
