マーフィー・ラボはギブソンカスタムショップ内に新設されたエイジング技術研究部門。カスタムショップ創設メンバーであるマスターアルティザンのトム・マーフィーを中心としたチームが最新技術を駆使した人工的ビンテージ仕上げを再現しています。こちらはレスポールのゴールデンエラとも言われる1959年式を究極にまで再現したモデル。オリジナル品のレーザースキャン計測を元に作成され、プラスチック部品なども素材成分からあらためて再現されたものを装備、手間のかかるニカワによる材接着等、カスタムショップの技術の粋が込められたギターです。表面的なエイジング仕上げは4段階用意されている内のライト・エイジドパターンでほどよく弾き込まれてきた摩耗、経年変化が具合が手仕上げにより再現されており、密度の高いウェザーチェックの入り具合、細かな弾き傷やチップ傷などを見ても職人の技術の高さ、気の遠くなるような作業内容に感服してしまいます。レプリカではなくオリジナル1959のクローンとも言えるようなモデルでしょう。USED品ではありますが、コンディションはほぼ未使用で出荷時の状態です。マーフィーラボの認定書、オリジナルハードケースが付属しております。
