愛知県在住のギター製作家、岩根康（Kou Iwane)氏が製作するブランド「Iwaneko Guitars」。岩根氏は、楽器メーカーに約7年勤務されたあとブランクを経て2006年に、個人ギター製作家としてのキャリアをスタートされています。構造物として頑丈にというポリシーで楽器製作されており実際に手にしていただければ分かりますが、まさにそういった内容の作りです。

本機は、TOKYOハンドクラフトギターフェス2025に展示出展されたモデルで、イワネコギターズの代名詞であるビグスビーを搭載したType-Vibratoです。00サイズに近い361mm幅の小振りなカッタウェイのシンボディスタイルです。ビグスビーは、独自に考案された Floating Center Block & Pole による Mute-Cancel System により、トップ響板に接触させることなくアーミングできるのが特徴です。そして、片側6ペグの3Dヘッドもインパクトがあります。

トップは、ベアクロウがたっぷりと入った素晴らしいシトカスプルース、サイド＆バックにはきれいなブビンガ材が使用されております。ネックは、メイプルとローズウッドの3Pと豪華、フィンガーボードとブリッジのエボニーも良質です。ブレイシングは、岩根さんお馴染みのダブルXのスキャロップスタイルで、しっかりした出音と強度を兼ね備えています。0フレット仕様もお馴染みのスペックです。ボディフィニッシュは、手間のかかるシェラック仕上げです。ナット幅は、43.5ミリ、スケールは、632.5mmのショートスケールとなっており、11-52弦ゲージの3弦プレーン弦使用で、エレクトリックギタープレイヤーにも馴染みやすい設定となっています。ペグは、人気のGOTOH SGS510Zで滑らかで回しやすいです。ピックアップには、FISHMANのRare Earth Mic Blend Active Soundhole Pickupを搭載されており、マグネットとコンデンサーマイクをブレンドが可能で、サウンドメイクの幅もございます。
