リチャード・ニューマン。日本では入荷が極めて少なくあまり馴染みのないギター製作家ですがヨーロッパでは知られた存在で、今般の新作ギターが弾きやすく大音量となっている傾向の中で、数少ない伝統的な手法を頑なに守っている製作家の一人として有名です。

ニューマン自身が語っているように、ドイツ人のギタリスト：Ｗ．リースケ氏（アンダンテで過去２回招聘し日本国内ツアーを企画）が1994年にリリースした1888年のTorresを使用したアルベニスのCD演奏に深く感銘を受けたことから、彼はいっそうスパニッシュスタイルのギターに傾注するようになりました。
その過程でTorres研究家の権威としての顔を持つイギリス在住だった当代一級のギター名工、ロマニロス１世にも強く感化され、ロマニロス風のギターを目指し今日も製作を続けています。
そんな一面はこのギターからも伺えます。
Ｊ．Ｌ．ロマニロスと同様に各個体に割り振った固有名詞がラベルにサインしてあり、このギターには“Ｍｉａ”が命名されています。

そんな経緯を持つニューマンの作品には、芯がしっかりとしつつも、甘く透明な響きに広がりを感じさせるロマニロスの秀作にも共通する音の雰囲気が醸し出だされています。

全体的にはダメージがなく極めて良好な状態で健康的に鳴っています。
ただ、前ファーストオーナー様が使用していたギター支持具：ギターリフトを固定するための円形シールが4ヶ所裏板に貼り付いています。
