数々の有名なルシアーを輩出し、また多くのミュージシャンが使用している事でも有名なサンタクルーズ・ギター。
本器は1996年製Vintage ArtistのUSED品。
リチャード・フーバーはプリウォーD-18の専門家と協力し、「フラットピッキングの伝説」の異名を持つDoc Watson(ドック・ワトソン)の意見を取り入れながら上質なマホガニートンと優秀なプレイヤビリティを開発実現しました。

1991年、リチャード・フーバーはプリウォーD-18の専門家と協力し、その特徴と魅力を研究し、ドックの意見を取り入れながら、単なるレプリカではなく、オリジナルへの探究とサンタクルーズの哲学を織り混ぜ上質なマホガニートンと優秀なプレイヤビリティを開発、実現しました。当時ドレッドノートへの思い入れと同じくらい、レスポールを使用してのロカビリーの演奏に打ち込んでいた、既成概念にとらわれないドックの感性と合致したものでした。テスト・パイロットのドックは、"人生をかけて探していたドレッドノートだ"と語っています。
その開発ストーリーの通り、やわらかく、とても太い厚みのあるサウンドはマホガニーの良さを強く感じることができます。
全体に多めの傷やウェザーチェックはございますが、演奏面のコンディションは良好です。パッシヴのアンダーサドルピエゾを搭載しております。
