K.Yairi 2022 LO-120
The LO-120 from Yairi Guitar, based in Kani City, Gifu Prefecture. Yairi's craftsmen, who have supported Japan's musical culture for many years, created the original "LO shape" - a design that keeps the rich acoustic character of a traditional dreadnought while reworking the body into a slightly smaller, more innovative form.
It settles naturally onto your lap for an immediate, comfortable hold, and thanks to carefully calculated internal air volume, it produces a surprisingly big, deep resonance that belies its compact appearance.
At the heart of that sound is a fully solid-wood build using premium, carefully selected timber. The top is a solid spruce piece chosen for its grain and tension, while the sides and back are crafted from premium solid Indian rosewood. The deep, earthy low end characteristic of rosewood pairs beautifully with crystal-clear, well-separated highs, so chords ring out with each string's voice staying distinct rather than blurring together. The neck shape, smart and comfortable for Japanese hands, reduces fatigue over long playing sessions and lets you draw out everything from intricate fingerstyle to powerful strumming. The density of tone found in this hand-carved, hand-assembled instrument is something a machine-made, mass-produced guitar simply can't match.
A guitar for players chasing the pinnacle of uncompromising, purely domestic craftsmanship, and seeking their own guitar for life.
