S.Yairi 2012 DY-42
A "style 42" acoustic guitar with beautiful abalone trim that commands attention on stage. This DY-42 delivers a spruce top for a quick, lively attack, and rosewood back and sides for a weighty low end, all packed into the dynamic, full sound of a dreadnought shape. What immediately catches the eye is the lavish, sparkling abalone trim around the body top edge, soundhole, and fingerboard position markers.
This particular 2012 example has had over a decade to open up - the stiffness of a brand-new instrument has worn off, and the wood is now resonating richly. You'll get both the crisp, cutting attack of a powerful strummed sing-along and the delicate, shimmering sustain of fingerpicking in full.
