[Profile]
Yamaha (founded in 1887 in Hamamatsu City, Shizuoka), the world's largest manufacturer of musical instruments and boasting an overwhelming market share in the musical instrument manufacturing and music business alone, was also an early proponent of the classical guitar. In 1966, Yamaha established the Guitar Research Department and began research and development of handcrafted guitars in order to stimulate the classical guitar market in Japan. The following year, Yamaha invited Eduardo Ferrer, who at the time was a mentor in Granada, Spain, to provide guidance on traditional Spanish construction methods, and in 1973, invited Manuel Hernandez (Hernandez y Aguado) to provide technical guidance. The result of these intensive training programs was the Grand Concert(GC) series, which continues to this day as a high-spec series of Yamaha classical models.

[Description]
Yamaha Grand Concert Series Flamenco model FC46 is now in stock. The label is printed that it was produced in cooperation with Kaohsiung Yamaha in Taiwan, and is personally signed by the craftsman in charge (details unknown). Kaohsiung Yamaha is one of Yamaha's Taiwan bases established in 1970, and is a factory that specializes in guitar-related production, in contrast to Taiwan Yamaha, which mainly produces pianos. Although this factory was closed in 2007, it has been highly acclaimed for the quality of its products,which is consistent with Yamaha's brand concept of producing world-class musical instruments from Taiwan.

This is a flamenco blanca model made of spruce and cypress. It is a good sounding instrument and gives a great impact in volume. It has a natural sound typical of Yamaha(unlike Spanish guitars), but the power of the rasgueado and the separation of the sound are appropriate for flamenco.It was probably made between the 1990s and 2007 (the year the factory closed). It can be
said to be in good condition with no cracks or other major repair history. The neck, frets,and other parts related to playability are in good condition.
